My UFC 142 Predictions

Hey Guys! sorry no video this time. I’ve been super busy these past two weeks and couldn’t do one =( sad face.  Here are my predictions anyway….just in written form =)

UFC 141 was seriously brutal for me.  Lesner came in with a horrible game plan, the veteran Janitor got destroyed, Johny Hendricks shocked everyone and Phan’s blackbelt wasn’t enough =(

At UFC 134 in Rio almost every Brazilian won…..so I’m weighing that heavily in my predictions.

Jose Aldo vs Chad Mendes

Chad is one of the beasts that train with Faber, and his wrestling and ground control are awesome. He definitely has the ability to stifle Jose’s jiu jitsu. HOWEVER!….I’m betting that Aldo doesn’t lose his belt in front of his home country.  Jose by TKO

Vitor Belfort vs Anthony Johnson

Both guys have devastating knockout power.  The last time that Johnson fought a striker was Dan Hardy.  The difference in this fight is that Vitor has Abu Dhabi level jiu jitsu, so it won’t be easy for Johnson to lay and pray.  I’m tentatively picking Johnson by decision. This is going to be Johnson’s toughest test since Koscheck and Vitor is Vitor…..but I’m going with Johnson by Decision.

Rousimar Palhares vs Mike Massenzio

Nothing against Massenzio but I’m keeping this prediction short.  Rousimar by submission….possibly heal hook again.  This man is a beast!

Erick Silva vs Carlo Prater

I don’t know too much about Silva, but I do know Carlo Prater.  I watched Prater when he fought in Shine fights and the guy has heart.  He made it to the final of the tournament and fought his heart out.  Silva looks very promising too.  I’m going with Prater but honestly I’m not sure about this fight.  This is the one fight where I am not sure who to pick.  Just going to enjoy it =)

Edson Barboza vs Terry Etim

Excellent match up! Barboza is a brutal striker with an arsenal of kicks.  Etim can strike with the best of them and I really like his chances in this fight.  Ross Pearson showed that Barboza is not superman, and I think that Etim can do that same. HOWEVER!….I’m factoring in the Brazilian home country advantage and I have to go with Barboza by decision.

Thank you, Come Again.
